We are a neighborhood restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island devoted to nurturing our community and resolved to act as steward for not only our region but for the cooking culture as a whole. In a small, 27 seat space on Luongo Memorial Square, north began in September of 2012 on a shoestring budget, a lot of hard work, and a bit of good luck. We offer a range of non-traditional American fare sourcing primarily from Rhode Island’s bounty. We are grateful to be a strange and wonderful part of the thriving Providence dining scene.
The Avery is the West Side's neighborhood bar. We're open seven days a week til midnight. Try a delicious Ginger Sidecar, Old Fashioned, or Ruby Red / St. Germain Cosmopolitan. The Avery has 8 great beers on tap and more than 40 in bottles. We also feature more than 70 whiskeys from around the world and a great selection of other spirits.
In 1875 workman carved the massive stones which became the foundation of the exquisite Wilcox Building. You can still see the drill and chisel marks on the Bistro walls. Why just tour history when you can dine in it at Pot au Feu? In 1972 America was just discovering Julia Child and a whole new world of food. Pot au Feu lead the way making every recipe from scratch from the highest quality local ingredients, offering fine wines by the glass not just the bottle, introducing “new” California wines and historic French favorites but most important of all the “espirit” that inspires Pot au Feu is the idea that life is at its fullest when experienced around a table brimming with delicious food, good wine, intriguing conversation, friendship and love - l’amour.
