    When you put together a very talented group of musicians who have a hankering to bring us some country, roots and rock then you get this really fun band Dogie & the Cowpie Poachers! (We'll have to ask them how they came up with the name tonight! :) Marc Sampson- Fiddle, vocals,Jimmy Ribeiro- guitar,Howie Shultz- bass, vocals,& Mike Warner- drums, vocals Performing classic country and fiddle instrumentals, featuring the music of artists such as Johnny Cash, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Hank Williams Sr., Ernest Tubb, Lefty Frizzell and many others. These guys ooze talent and also have fun doing it. Please join us for this down home, rootin' tootin' fun night!     I don't know about you guys- but for me these guys have been missing for WAY too long! ALWAYS A PACKED HOUSE Come on in for great music and tons of dancing~ For those who don’t know, Detroit Breakdown is a special blend of Boogie-blues; an up beat, danceable style that will keep you up and outa’ your seat! Paul Petit - Lead Singer, Blues Harp, Sax and Flute.Great lead guitar, silly good drummer,HAMMOND ORGAN, and terrific bass- Paul Petit, Detroit Breakdown's front-man lead vocalist,and harmonica ,WAS also featured on the Mill city Rockers first two albums as lead singer. Both albums toped record sales on Big Noise Records.HITTING NO.1 for Regional sales.. Richard Jiacovelli, Paul's Bandmate for the last 10 years", plays the hammond B-3 organ and piano. He is also a vocalist in the band, making him a "key player" in the project (pun intended).......... Rich "Reggie" Roussel plays bass and adds vocals. Reggie is a founding member of Mainbreak, Injustice and the Negative Attitudes........... The other half of the rhythm section is Billy "Bam Bam" Donahue. Billy is a former member of Young Neal and the Vipers, Touch and Through the Doors. Billy brings a hard driving blues shuffle feel to the group.......... Scott Cioe rounds out the lineup with guitar and vocals. Scott, also a member of Mainbreak, Man Made God and Exit 19, was also the band leader for Paul and Al and the Nads, the infamous group from WHJY The Detroit Breakdown Band is a realy great group of musicians. A singer and harmonica player for 30+ years, the J. Geils Band has been a personal favorite. Along with the other band members, Paul brings all of the old school songs from the classic era, like: First I look at the Purse, Lookin' for a Love, Homework, House Party, Musta' Got Lost, Pack Fair and Square, Southside Shuffle, Whammer Jammer, Hard Drivin' Man. In addition, Songs by artists like Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton and The Allman Brothers will be included. These guys are waaaaay fun! See you on the dace floor!

    Live Music Every Thursday this Summer starting tonight! If you were one of the fortunate who caught them for Thursday night music last summer or Sunday Blues- you know what I mean when I say- Don't miss this show! Neal McCarthy hails from Freetown, Mass. He and his band The Neal McCarthy Problem are coming to the Café tonight and come highly recommended by his peers in the music world. He pays a blend of originals, blues, country, funk, rock and folk along with his favorites by such artists as Bob Dylan, Clapton, The Dead, BB King, The Band, Van Morrison,etc. He has been seen all over the East Coast and abroad. They were recently inducted into the Rhode Island Hall of fame AND nominated for 5 music awards from Severn Records including Best Instrumentalist -Sugar Ray Norcia-- Harmonica;Best Instrumentalist-Michael 'Mudcat' Ward- Bass; Best Album of the Year, Best Band of the Year and, Best Traditional Blues Album. We are soooo excited to have them to the Cafe! Sugar Ray Norcia was also the frontman and vocalist for Roomful of Blues from 1991-2000.As a vocalist, Sugar Ray has a unique and instantly identifiable style, more croon than growl, smooth as silk yet infinitely expressive. Known for traditional 50′s style ‘Chicago’ blues and jump blues, they also delve into swamp blues, organ trio jazz, West side blues,roots rock and 40′s R & B. They have 2 albums out- both which have been acclaimed by various venues both here and abroad!“YOU GOT TO LIVE IT TO GIVE IT”, states the first line from Ryan Hartt & the Blue Hearts’ latest CD, “Call My Name”.
